First presentation

The brand performs its first presentation of the line LUIS ONOFRE in Madrid – “ModaCalzado”, where it is presented up to now, as well as at Barcelona–“Fashion Café”.

2001

Onofre Paris

The brand participates in the Portuguese Fashion show in Paris – “Printemps” and presents the 2001 Summer Collection in the special edition of “Portugal Fashion – Footwear and Accessories”.

2003

A bit step

The technical development and the production of several collections and accessories, leather goods and footwear are assured by the brand ( Luis Onofre ) for partnerships developed between H&M and other brands such as Jimmy Choo, Marni, Anna dello Russo, MMMargiela and Isabel Marant.

The first online store of the brand is launched for sales in Portugal, Spain and The Netherlands. (…) focus on the Spanish market, the brand is invited to join the exhibition of “Swarovski Boulevard” from Madrid’s El Corte Inglès.

Onofre awards

Receives the award of “Best Design Accessories” is given to the brand’s creator by Portugal Fashion Awards. Design Accessories” by the Portugal Fashion Awards. Paris Hilton wears one model of the brand in Valencia and Michelle Obama sends a thank you letter after receiving a pair of shoes of the brand as gift..

2012

Leading footwear industry

The award of “Best Design Accessories ” is received again, given by Portugal Fashion Awards. The position of the brand as a leading one in the footwear industry in Portugal is strengthned.

2014

Onofre store in Lisbon

The first flagship store of the brand is opened in Lisbon, Av. da Liberdade. A medal of merit is received at the Town Council, in Oliveira de Azeméis, where Luís Onofre was born and raised. The medal was awarded for the brand’s “priceless contribution to the promotion of the city.”, according to the mayor.

2014

Man of the year

Luís Onofre was elected “Man of the year” in the fashion area, by the GQ Portugal, becoming the first designer winning the Golden Globe of “Best Designer “ in the XIX Edition. The American Embassador in Portugal pays a visit to the company- Luís Onofre is condecorated by the President of Portugal, Cavaco Silva.

2016

Man Collection

The brand’s online store was lauched, promoting sales all over the world. Luis Onofre introduces a man collection for the first time ever targeting a whole new market.

2017

Onofre in Porto

A new flagship store is opened in the city of Porto. A new modern, comtemporary space in the heart of the high-end shopping area of the city.

The men behind
the Brand

Luís Onofre, 48, grew up in leather shoes – or founded a factory in Oliveira de Azeméis, Aveiro district, in 1933, and his grandmother Conceição Rosa Pereira became one of the companies that suffered the most death. of her husband in 1939 – but imagine the future for an architect or decorator.

Perfect shoes crave faultless components, and Onofre relies exclusively on elite names in material creation. Selected, and sourced, the materials arrive at the state of the art Onofre workshop in northern Portugal. Inspected and prepared, the shoe is one step closer.

Quality assurance is held-up as perhaps Onofre’s most important business operation. Each produced piece (not random sampling) is manually inspected by our people. Now comes the delicate packing and delivery process. A shoe is born, the shoe fits, wear it with pride.
